WBLS Circle of Sisters 2007

Thanks to WBLS for having the Official Get 'Em Girl's at the 2007 Circle of Sisters. We had a great time cooking on stage for all of the beautiful and genuine attendees that we met. We prepared shrimp scampi w/ linguine and it was a hit! Just when I thought the day couldn't get any better...Tobias Truvillion aka Vincent Jones from One Life To Live came through to be our celebrity taste tester. My mother watches the soap opera and had told me he was handsome, however his Essence picture in last months "Do Right Men" photo shoot did not do him justice! When he walked on that stage I was all teeth and gums. After Tobias departed we were starting to pack up to head over to the Hueman Bookstore pavilion ...however so many attendees were still hungry. The Official Get 'Em Girl's always rise to the occasion so we cooked again. This time my boy Dennis White stopped by to be our celebrity taste tester. For those of you who don't know Dennis is the new Jodie Foster and Terrance Howard movie, The Brave One. The ladies loved Dennis he was very personable, not to mention handsome.
Special Thanks to WBLS, Chris Mercado, J.C. Brillant (sorry you didn't get a plate), Dennis White, Tobias Truvillion, HueMan Bookstore, Tracey Smith/Go On Girl Book Club, Terry McMillian, Nancy, Those Brothers-Third Generation Jewelers, Moms (Diedre Williams), Bettina Lee, R. Gil Robertson IV, Detail Management- Mary Ellen Conforti, Lori Newman and Dee Dee. Last but not least special thanks to our east coast publicist; Tasha Stoute of Strong Arm Media. You are the truth!
We are on the road this week to Charlotte and Baltimore...so stay tuned for more of the Official Get 'Em Girl's.......

Located in the heart of Greenwich Village this contemporary eatery exudes the flavor and aroma of an authentic Caribbean restaurant. Negril has ample seating that is divided into one spacious dining room and a lounge. The dinning room is accented with warm lighting and colors, giving it a true Caribbean feel. The lounge is cozy and complete with its own DJ and full service bar. The décor is stylish, casually elegant and intimate. The service is warm and friendly. Reservations are not required but I highly recommend you do make reservations especially on Friday and Saturday nights.

The menu is filled with delicious Caribbean flavor from Puerto Rico, Jamaica and Trinidad. Patrons like I return again and again for generous portions of fresh cuisine. This is some of the best Caribbean food you will find in the city. My menu highlights includes: Appetizer: Negril’s Sampler – veggie patties, codfish fritters, calamari escoveitch, sweet plantains, and dipping sauces. Entrées: Negril Oxtail & Lima Beans Stew served w/ rice and peas, Red Snapper served w/ rice and peas and Island Paella. Oh and please don’t forget to try a mango mojito or sangria…why not try both!

Enjoy
